Together, Rory Wilfong, Steve Young and Dave Conklin have used their drive, motivation, determination and optimistic outlook to create a multi-million dollar enterprise in which they refer to as “The Web Xtreme Companies”. In all there are almost 10 separate corporations that make up Web Xtreme. And all of them have been built from scratch, with no outside investors or startup capital. The three will readily admit that what they have accomplished could not have been done alone. By combining the abilites that all three of them possess, they feel that can accomplish virtually anything they set their minds to.
The first of the partners, Rory Wilfong, has brought the life to the party so to speak in so many ways since the guys began doing business together in 1996. While Web Xtreme was not yet born, Rory ran a company that provided entertainment at wedding and corporate events all over Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and beyond. That was when he met Dave Conklin, who started working with him as an event “Emcee”. Later, in 1999, Dave moved on to start a career in the real estate business. Rory continued to build the entertainment company until it finally was sold in 2000. Rory then followed Dave into the real estate business and not only found his true passion, but also met another one of his future business partners, Steve Young who would soon provide mortgages for many of Rory’s home buyers. Rory’s real estate business grew to the point where he was closing more than $12 million in homes per year with his gross commissions totalling more than $300,000.00. Steve continued to provide financing for many of Rory’s clients during this time and their business relationship grew stronger. In 2006, Rory was voted as one of the Top 40 Business People Under 40 in Pennsylvania.
Steve Young, after graduating from Millersville University, immediately fell in love with finance. He started working as a loan officer in a small bank and then later found an opportunity with a local real estate company where he could grow his book of business at a greater speed. That is when he met Dave Conklin in 1999. Dave, like Rory, found that Steve took great pride in the way that he did business and always treated his clients with respect and at the same time provided great loan programs and valuble services. As Steve’s business grew, and other mortgage companies began to seek him out, he realized that it was time to open his own mortgage company. In 2002, Steve founded Classic Mortgage Services. The company became profitable within a few months and Steve proved himself to be an expert at building a company with little startup resources - a trait that would come in extremely useful just a year later.
The last of the trio is Dave Conklin. During his real estate career, Dave was asked by the national Coldwell Banker corporate offices if he would be willing to address an audience of real estate managers from all over the country at a regional convention in Richmond, VA. The topic he was asked to address was “How young real estate agents can be successful in the real estate business”. The event was a success and Dave considers it one of the highlights of his career. While still working in the field, Dave was asked to use his technology and marketing expertise to open a new market in Delaware for a local internet marketing company. Within a short time, Dave was able to network and create relationships with literally hundreds of people in the new territory and set record breaking sales numbers. He also used this time to develop his expertise in the area of improving business using technology and marketing.
In 2003, Dave and Rory were approached by a West Coast based company to buy real estate leads online. Immediately, it became obvious that Dave had the expertise to build a site that would do a similar thing. After building the site, people from all over the United States started logging in and requesting information. The problem was that Rory and Dave’s real estate team only serviced Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. As an expert in sales and customer service, Rory took the bull by the horns and developed a plan to start finding realtors who would want the information their new site was collecting. One of the things you’ll often hear around the office is how Dave and Rory are such go-getters that they often forget to look before they leap. Because they knew this about each other, they approached Steve to join up with them to offer his financial, legal, and most improtantly - his conservative outlook - to the company.
The company was officially formed shortly theirafter and since then the guys have grown their companies to employ more than 60 people. Additionally, one of their companies, GetMyHomesValue.com, was recently awarded as one of the top 6 emerging companies in Pennsylvania by The Central Penn Business Journal.
